Find a little more wonder

Welcome to The Elsewhere Society

The doors of The Elsewhere Society are open for a few short moments and you are invited to step through them. I’m Emma, the founder of The Elsewhere Society: a place where enchantment meets the everyday. The Society was born from my desire to find magic in the mundane, to connect with other enchantment seekers, and to make life more magical together.

When I moved back to my native North East in my 30s I was burnt out from a demanding career and longing for a time when I felt more wonder. I searched for people to connect with but online spaces felt superficial and in-person meet-ups often fell flat. I knew my people were out there, but how could I find them?

So I built a Society for people like me: for the wanderers, the dreamers, the artists, the creatives. If you’ve ever picked your way  through an ancient graveyard at dusk and deciphered crumbling inscriptions while bats wheel overhead; welcome. If your camera roll is full of magical moments - frost on a spider’s web, an antique apothecary’s bottle, a doorway that looks like it should be a portal: me too. If you could spend an afternoon rummaging for treasures at an antiques market, and finish the day with drinks in a Victorian theatre where a password gets you into the disused dressing rooms turned secret speakeasy: we’d get along. I’m so glad we’ve found each other.

Your chance to belong

Membership of the Society gives you an online space to connect with other Elsewheres, and an ever-changing array of online surprises.

01
What Membership may bring

One month there might be a Zoom creative writing class, a live tutorial or workshop or access to a private podcast. Another month might bring a secret challenge full of simple yet magical tasks to re-enchant our lives.

02
Why we exist

If the heart of the Society is a way for everyone to access a little more wonder online every month, its soul belongs to building an offline connection, so members also receive exclusive invites to one-off in-person events in the North East of England, as well as early access to bookings for large scale events and retreats.

03
Shaping a Society

Join us for a candlelit picnic, a costume ball, or an invitation to a secret speakeasy to listen to ghost stories. We’re building this together, so as a thank you for believing in and helping me shape my dream, the Society doors will open for a very limited time at a never to be repeated Founding Member rate.
